RAPTOR CLOSURES: please be aware of seasonal raptor closures at the Cat Wall and Reservoir Wall. They occur annually from March 31st until August 31st. *Due to the federal hiring freeze in agencies such as the BLM of Monticello, no official closure for 2017 has been issued and the laws which have been put in place in previous years are not being enforced. Please, for the sake of fragile desert ecology, DO NOT CLIMB at stated walls. These raptors return to the same nesting sites every year to raise their nestlings.
Allow 3-5 days depending on where you put in. It's 68 river miles from Green River State Park to Mineral Bottom. There's also an alternative launch from Ruby Ranch (Last I knew fees where $5.00 per person, $10.00 per boat). Much of the land between the city of Green River and Ruby Ranch, 23 miles downstream, is privately owned so try not to end up on the banks camping here overnight. Below Ruby Ranch, is mostly state and federal managed land. 'Camping regulations are on the permit. Utah State boating and fishing regulations apply.' blm.gov/visit/labyrinth-canyon
The takeout is at Mineral Bottom. Access the takeout from Utah Highway 191 travel west on Utah Highway 313 for 13 miles. Turn west on "Mineral Bottom Road". The river is located ~16 miles west on this dirt road and the final portion of the drive goes down steep switchbacks leading to the river. This road is best suited to vehicles with high ground clearance it is usually in good condition, but this isn't always the case and can be deadly if wet or muddy.
***DON'T MISS THE TAKEOUT. The next one is a long way down and involves floating to the confluence then through Cataract canyon with CLASS IV - V rapids ouch.
