Description

The Gulag Wall is very easy to approach and has tons of routes mostly in the 6’s range. You can also climb this section to approach The Mata section.

The rest of the climbing at Gulag has a lot of slab, as well as some very unique climbs that go in and out of small caves.

Sun hits the wall at about 1 or 2 pm. Later in the evening, the trees fell behind offer some shelter from the sun.

Getting There

From the clearing in the grass where you can park, turn right and follow the trail for a minute or two until you get to the wall. As you step off the trail and walk directly straight to the wall, you will walk right to the route “White Snow is Coming”

If you look to the LEFT of “white snow is coming”, you will see a giant cave at the base of the wall and a log bridge leading from the base of the cave to the wall. Keep walking to the left and you will see a second giant cave at the base of the wall over this cave you can find some routes. Keep going left and you will climb up a boulder. Climb up this boulder and go a few meters beyond it as well to get to the last few routes. There are 12 routes this way.

If you look RIGHT of “White Snow is Coming”, you will see the some slab sections and some shallow chimneys. There are 6 routes this way.
