Description
Easy, short approach and a wide, flat staging area makes Les Brieux a nice spot for a group or family with kids.
Around 40 routes from 3 to 7c.
This location, just east of the Jean Balestas sports complex, is comprised of two main secteurs.
Le Rognon (the kidney). Around 16 routes from 5c to 7c. Located 100m to the left of the main secteur.
La Muraillette. 24 routes from easy to 6b. On the far right is the “initiation” area.
Limestone routes on a steep, dark slab that are mostly in the 20m length. Well bolted sports climbing.
The area was equipped by Philippe Brass, Sylvain Maurin and Claude Vigier.
No doubt a toasty location mid day in the heat of the summer and chilly in the dead of winter.
Getting There
From Grenoble, take the A480 towards St. Egrève. Exit and drive northeast to the D1075. Take the Rue du Muret towards the Brieux sports complex. At the roundabout head left on the Avenue du Collège and take a right on Rue du Néron.
Park at the football field. Take the path for a couple minutes to the crag (east of the sports complex).
