Description Suggest change

A 40' tall rock on the side of the road a few minutes away from Guadalupe Rock, which is probably worth a visit on a Summer afternoon after a work day or for newer leaders looking for well protected moderate sport routes. All routes can be top roped; to do so scramble up the left side. Roadside Rock is on County property; the county is aware of climbing and permits it.

Except for Hands That Go Bump, these are new routes and there is the potential for rock fall. It is recommended that belayers and those hanging out under the routes climbed wear helmets. This is particularly true of the left side where Pet Memorial Services is.

There is a rare species of succulent that grows here; please do not remove them.

Getting There Suggest change

Coming from San Jose, go down Hicks Road towards Guadalupe Reservoir. Shortly after seeing the reservoir on your left you will come to a stop sign. Less than a minute after the stop sign you will see Roadside Rock immediately to your right on the shoulder of the road. There is quite a bit of parking around.
