Description

A fairly large dome that sits across the canyon form Balloon Dome. Short approach, great rock.

Getting There

From North Fork, drive 45 miles where you should then see a big sign for Arch Rock on the right. Maybe half a mile past this, turn right on a dirt road that is marked 5s29. Follow this, staying on the main road, avoiding any spurs. After about a mile you'll meet an obvious fork, take a right. Drive maybe a mile further and park in a big pullout on the left. Across from this pullout is an abandoned road that had post leaning up against a tree which marked this road as 5s56B. Hike this road until it ends (5-10min). Keep hiking in the same direction and shortly (5-10min) you'll be coming up on the backside of Disappearing Dome.

Head left (north) for the gully descent or right to descend along the other side.
