Description Suggest change

The Southeast Face is the large wall on the south east side of Mt. Bierstadt. This area is relatively unexplored but has potential for a lot of good routes.

There is some large choss is the area, so be careful, especially if you are the first person to climb a route.

Getting There Suggest change

If you are coming from the east, it may be easiest to park on the edge of the second switchback of Mt. Evans Road (39.579364, -105.637300), hike down roughly 900' of Class 3, and then cross the valley. Expect this to take an hour or two. If you are on Abyss Lake Trail, the wall will be very obvious, looking to the northwest from between Helms Lake and Lake Fork. (39.570942, -105.648782 roughly). As of writing this, there is no well established trail from Abyss Lake Trail to the base of the wall. Please respect the tundra in the area, and try to minimize your impact.
