Access Issue: Echo Canyon Seasonal Closure: Jan. 1 - second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer)
Details
The Echo Canyon climbing areas are located within the Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources closes all access to the WMA each year from January 1 to the second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer) to protect wintering wildlife.
Description
As you face Bear Hollow, the Soul Train Wall is up and to your left. The wall is named for the 70s TV show of the same name. There is a flat staging area at the far left of the wall but it may be best to put harnesses on at the car and follow the description below to the climbs. All climbs have a belay anchor and chain at the bottom. All anchors at the top are two bolts. Only one line, Don Cornelius, goes to the top of the cliff.
All routes at this crag are now equipped with fixed steel biners at the anchors as well as belay bolts/chains at the bottom.
Please use care on the approach trail to help avoid unnecessary erosion.

Getting There
Follow the dirt road that leads back into Bear Hollow for approximately 60 meters from the paved road. Look for a newly cut trail the left leading up through the forest and to the rock wall. There you will find a series of hand lines secured with bolts and a trail cutting under the wall. It's best to put on harnesses at the car and then once past the hand lines on the trail, follow the trail to the obvious tree at its end and leave packs there. The trail at the base of the climbs was cut by hand and is still settling (as of 9.10.18). Please use care and try to stay off the down slope edge so that the trail compacts. Similarly, please use the chains when starting the climbs to help minimize erosion above the trail.
