Description
Great oceanside bouldering on limestone boulders and cliffs. The rock is more textured than typical limestone and has better friction. The setting is spectacular. Since the climbs are so close to the water, keep an eye on the weather and the tide. Ocean spray will reach your project during higher tides. Many problems below V4 make it a great place for volume/mileage. After large storms the boulders may move, making new problems and destroying old ones.
Getting There
Going south on R479 (as if you're driving from Galway) you'll come across the Ballyvoe Hotel about 1.7 km north of Galway. Right before the hotel is a dirt road that leads to the ocean. Turn right on that and take it to the end. If you pass the Aran House Hotel you've gone too far. You can park at the end of the road, just be sure not to block the gate! From there you basically just start walking toward the ocean while following the path of least resistance. There should be a boulder on the right once you get down the hill that has an arrow painted on it to let you know that you're walking the right way.
