Description

This area is close to the Tegucigalpa Zoo and offers a short getaway from the city with an excellent view of it closeby. It's partly sunny and partly shady with some dense woods around it. There's a 25 Lempira entrance fee for the Fundación de Parques Nacionales, Parques Naciones Unidas Cerro El Picacho. It's open from Monday through Sunday from 0800 to 1700. The protection is excellent with epoxy bolts and anchors at the top, set up for easy top roping or sport lead if you prefer. The rock is granite and would accept gear if you want to trad. I only added 2 routes but there are at least 5 or 6 variations and a lot of fun to be had up here.

Getting There

Parking is near the zoo. Walk across the street, hop over the wall at a small wooden ladder near a small park. Go right and walk along the wall until you reach a small outcropping of rocks which will be the anchor points. Rappel to the bottom and enjoy.
