Description Suggest change

Limestone rock away from civilization with a great view over the big river valley (but some road noise from highway far below).

Facing W or NW and non-low-altitude, so cool on summer mornings.

Getting There Suggest change

driving

: Take the N94 highway to Saint-Crépin, about 7 km N from roundabout for Guillestre, or 6 km S from narrow thru Roche de Rame.
Up out of the Saint-Crépin village on asphalt road at first SE, then lots of switchbacks up to (N44.7008 E6.6256), then NNW about 2.5 km past a small village.
. . . (perhaps find parking near here to avoid driving back uphill on dirt/gravel).
At fork around (N44.7183 E6.6114), take Left fork onto dirt/gravel, and about 600 meters downward with one switchback left to small parking at the next switchback.
Parking on dirt: (N44.7174 E6.6077).

hiking: From Parking on dirt, walk south 100 meters flat, next turn Right down about 120 meters WSW then SSW, then S to around (N44.7158 E6.6071). Turn sharp Left and up steep 30 meters to reach left end of slab of sector 1.

Effort: downhill -60 vertical meters, then +15 vertical meters uphill, over a distance of 0.3 km.
Time: typical range 5-10 minutes, though return is longer like 8-15 minutes.
