HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
On Calico Basin Road:
- Follow the road North, then West until it reaches a 90-degree turn.
- Follow the road and turn North to see a wired-off gravel parking lot, facing the Red Springs recreation area. You may park here if desired.
- To continue to Kraft Mountain boulders, continue taking the road North until you reach a cul-de-sac and a parking lot to the West.
- You may park in this parking lot to get to Kraft Boulders, etc.
Please obey all parking signs. Fines for illegal parking are a hefty $275!
