Description
Grouse mountain is the familiar high point of the Buttermilk country seen to the south from the main bouldering area. This area is home to The Sherman Acres boulder field and several crags that can be found in Peter Croft and Marty Lewis's Bishop Area Rock Climbs.
Getting There
Drive a couple miles down Buttermilk Rd. past the cattle guard at the main boulders. At some point, park your car, head south on discontinuous trails and book it down into the canyon where you will need to cross a small stream. Once on the other side of the stream weave through thin Pinion pine trees to find you're way to the summit. Grouse Mountain itself can be summited be easy cross-country hiking and simple navigation.
