Erba Rock Climbing

Put directions to "Eremo di S Salvatore Erba" in your preferred navigation app.
If it is a weekday, follow the directions until you get to a private road. Park immediately to the right once you get to the sign indicating the road is now private. Walk up the private road to Eremo di S Salvatore.
If it is a weekend you have a choice. You can be safe, park your car at the bottom, and walk up the private road. If you are brave, you can drive up the single lane narrow switchback after switchback road up to Eremo di S Salvatore. There are 6 total switchbacks, and the road narrows as it increases in elevation. If someone else is coming the other way, you may have to back up to the nearest pullover spot, which might be past the last switchback. It's advised not to drive up the road unless you would feel comfortable driving backwards down a single lane dirt switchback. If you do drive up to Eremo di S Salvatore, park at the lot for Eremo di S Salvatore.
Once you get to Eremo di S Salvatore, follow the loose cobblestone "road" from the parking lot up the side of the hill. Some small foot trails will split off, stick with the loose cobblestone road. Signs will point you to turn to the right for "Sasso Muschiato" and then a bit further up the cobblestone road a sign will point you to the right for "Sasso d'Erba". Hike from the Eremo parking lot up to Sasso d'erba is about 20 minutes. larioclimb.paolo-sonja.net/… has topo maps which generally give the available routes and a bit of information on the type of rock and the approach. They are only missing a couple of routes. The bottom of Sasso d'Erba has a diagrammatic map that labels the routes with grades and distances.
