Getting weather forecast...
This is a small area that needs strong fingers to establish a few of the routes. The rock is super solid with a different feel relative to the rest of the crags around Grand County. The boulder is approximately 18 feet tall and has an easy walkoff/warm-up climb depending on your skill level. The cruxes are low to the ground. Some of the routes could be considered highballs, but the upper holds are so solid/juggy that it is easy to remain confident all the way up. Sit starts need STRONG hands. There are probably 4 or 5 good routes not including the walkoff. The front side (facing US Hwy 40) is partially overhung at the base while the east face is fairly steep. The north/west face is slabby and has the walkoff.
Park just north of the Vintage Hotel in B or C Lot at Winter Park Resort. The caveat here is that there is a $5 fee at B and C lots. The boulder is a two minute walk east directly across US Hwy 40. It is visible from both B and C lots nestled in the trees up the hill. Or, you could park in G Lot, which is east of Winter Park Resort across from US Hwy 40. This is free parking, but the hike from G Lot is about ten minutes. If you are staying at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge (just north of the boulder), you have the best parking possible to access the spot.
