Description
A wonderful section with great rock, a hidden trove of quality routes tucked up in a "lorax hole", and the classic, early Soddy original 'Departure 29'. The "lorax hole" is kind of a hidden gully up to the left, with a hidden south facing wall. This wall wraps around north and east for a few more great trad routes. All in all a really nice collection of routes from 5.8-5.12.
Getting There
Climber's right/downstream/east of The Sirens. Follow Cumberland Trail and walk up to the cliff. Currently the most climber-right/east section of the Soddy cliffline. Departure 29 stands out farily well visually--with a lower corner and big flat roof to striking upper face and arete with beautiful white stone. The "lorax hole" is tucked away just to the left, kind of up a gully with a hidden wall. This section is closest to the Town of Soddy access and parking area.
