Description
This is the closest free-standing formation to the Schnebly Hill Trailhead. The summit of this "front-country" tower is relatively easy to reach, and offers spectacular views of Mitten Ridge and Wilson Mountain.
Getting There
Park at Schnebly Hill Trailhead and identify the spire. From the parking lot, walk east on the dirt road for a few hundred yards. Just before the first major bend (sharp left turn), look for a slabby gully on your right. Take this gully and follow it (pretty much a bee-line) to the base of the spire. Total approach time: 20-30 minutes.
