Description

Uniquely featured volcanic stone with knobs and pockets and some of the steepest boulder problems in the Sierras! The Dazed and Confused Boulders along with their neighbor The Half Baked Boulder are the first you come to up and left of the main trail and offer some of the best problems. The Basement and newly discovered Attic are also some of the best and steepest and are found just a few more minute hike uphill and east on small steep switchback trails.

The Basement has some of the steepest and toughest roof problems in the Tahoe area ~ V7-V13

Getting There

4.0 miles west of Kirkwood on CA88 and just east of Silver Lake on the south side of CA88 park at Horse Thief Trailhead and hike it for about ~10min to the boulders which are mostly located up and left/east of the trail. The Smoking Room Boulders are just past the main area on the right/west side of the trail. FOR MORE INFO CHECK OUT: Lake Tahoe Bouldering - Outlying Areas laketahoebouldering.com/gui…
