Description Suggest change

This peak first caught my eye when I noticed it on a Perry-Mansfield brochure in 1968. Ray Palmer took the photo in 1966 while leading groups into the Zirkel Wilderness. The rock itself is similar to that of "Beer Me" Boulder in Butcherknife Creek or Box Canyon and could be the most solid in the entire Wilderness Area with abundant crack systems which offered good gear placements. I estimate the longest climbs to be about 150-250'.

Getting There Suggest change

We left the Gilpin Creek trail shortly after it forks off from the Mica Basin trail, crossed Gilpin Creek, and hiked up about 1200 feet to the base.
