Description

Short Mountain lies directly south of Ragged Mountain on the southern side of Carey St/Reservoir Road. This small 'mountain' hosts a few cliffs, the most popular of which is the Winter Wall. The Winter Wall hosts some high quality traprock cliffs and was once off limits to climbers. The land has changed owners recently and the previous owner who used to shoot at climbers is no longer around. The cliff and cliff top, per recent survey, has been confirmed to be private and climbers should have the utmost respect for the property when they climb here.

WINTER WALL IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO USE AS OF 1/31/2021 AT THE REQUEST OF THE LANDOWNER. VISIT WITH RMF IF YOU REQUIRE MORE INFORMATION. Please do not climb here until the situation is resolved.

Getting There

The best approach to short mountain is to park at the Timberlin Park lot and follow Marjorie Moore Road to the dead end. From here one can access the Short Mountain area and its array of cliffs.
