Description Suggest change

Grapevine Hills has a high concentration of bouldering in a few sectors. The rock type is syenite which is the same as Hueco Tanks but unfortunately there is a quite a bit of friable rock (choss). There is a lot of good rock, though, and room for exploration and development. Have Fun!

Getting There Suggest change

From Panther Junction head west follow the signs and turn right (north) toward Grapevine Hills. High clearance vehicle sometimes needed for the road depending on work done since the last washout. NPS website specifies no sedans, minivans, or RVs. If road is severely washed out past the parking for balancing rock, park at the first lot and walk 5 minutes down the road to boulders.
