Description Suggest change

Senegal is a French speaking country in northwestern Africa. Roughly 95% of the country is Muslim and 5% Christian. There is great sea cliff climbing in the city of Dakar and also the larger climbing area of Bandafassy (also spelled Bandafassi), which is near the town of Kédougou in the far southeast of the country.

Dakar has a fairly active climbing scene, mostly made up of foreigners working for various governments and NGOs. Climbers are at the sea cliffs almost every weekend day and a few days during the work week.

Getting There Suggest change

Most visitors fly into Dakar's Blaise Diagne International Airport (airport code DSS), which is located 60-90 minutes from downtown Dakar. It is also possible to travel overland from adjacent coastal countries like Mauritania and Gambia.
