Description Suggest change

The Artifact Wall, like many of the rock faces along the Providence Area, is divided into two halves, the lower slab and an upper, steep face. The wall is just right of the Spire, as seen from the lower trail. The tallest and most obvious line of least resistance, starts at the base of a diminishing seam, towards the bottom right of the wall, continues on a left facing edge, up the slab to a broken, right facing dihedral, then left to a sloped ledge and the top of the cliff. Several route variations end the line at different points along the top of the bluff.

Getting There Suggest change

Improved Approach Trail: Head north from the Providence parking area along the Katy Trail, keeping an eye on the rock formations to your right. You will see the Spire formation within 1/8 mile. Continue another 1/16 mile toward the next obvious drainage, just before the natural spring and bench, then look for the faint wildlife game trail. Follow it slightly up hill towards stacked stone fondation, then back towards the base of the cliff line on the right. Follow the foot trail along the base of the cliff until you find your specific route. Continue along the bottom of the cliff band, to the base of the Spire. Head around the bottom of the Spire, then back up and right to access the foot of the Aftifact Wall slab.
