Warning Access Issue: RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas such as CAT WALL and RESERVOIR WALL in Indian Creek DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

Huge swath of the desert with lots of Wingate and other climbable sandstones, largely unexplored, undocumented, and undeveloped - for climbing that is, mining on the other hand...

While others might disagree, despite being in southeast Utah (south of I-70, east of the Green/Colorado rivers) this area, being 130+ driving miles from Moab is clearly not part of the "Moab Area." Also, while I'm at it, neither is anything south of the Abajos (Bluff, Texas/Arch Canyon, Bear's Ears, VOG), but that's a different argument.

Getting There Suggest change

State highways 276 and 95 are the nearby paved roads, Red Canyon and Radium King road are both good to get into the interior of the area.
