Description
The Trailside Castle is a large buttress of rock near the trail to the fire tower. It's above the 1/2 way sign but before the Zinn Overlook. There is a bench on the trail that sits across from the rock.
There are plenty of possibilities for more traditional climbs along with some face climbs on the west side of the rock.
Getting off the formation can be problematic as there are no rappel anchors. We did find an old rusted ring piton on top.
