Description
This is a good boulder down off the highway in the trees with several routes ranging around V0-V7. It is tall enough for the topouts to be exciting around 18-19 feet, and it has good landings.
Getting There
Park at the Grotto Wall parking lot. There are 2 options - walk east / uphill along the highway for ~200 feet or so and then walk down toward the river. Or, cross the guardrail near the Grotto Wall lot, walk down the slope, and parallel the highway heading east toward the top of Independence Pass. There are a handful of large boulders, but this is the only one that is chalked and has good landings, between the highway and the river. Note - you can't see any of the routes from the highway, just a mossy side of the boulder that doesn't look like something you'd want to climb.
