Description
Amazing quality granite slab. Current development here is largely oldschool in nature with big runouts over blank slab terrain, besides the route ACMG Superstar. If you're a slab star, this is your spot. Otherwise, huge potential for more slab and even a few trad lines.
Just like Golden Canyon, this is TKC Settlement Land:
"The First Nation has expressed concern about increased traffic on their settlement land. Please consider climbing in smaller groups and absolutely ensure that you pack out any waste. Consider heading in for day trips and refraining from camping at the site."
Getting There
From town take the Alaska Highway north to the Klondike Highway. After 9km or so you will see signs for Takhini Hotsprings. Take a left onto Takhini Hotsprings road and follow this almost to the end (close to Bean North Cafe). Take a left onto Takhini River road and follow this for another 7km or so. You should cross a small wooden bridge over Flat Creek, and then enter a marshy area. Often times this is really muddy, so unless you have a 4x4, you may want to park here (on the right, just past the bridge).Walk or drive ~3km down the road, past the Golden Canyon trailhead. You will pass a Klondike Snowmobile Association campground on the left. Once you hit the section where the powerline opens up, you will see the obvious slabs to the left, follow the well trodden trail past some picnic tables to the main wall.
