Description
Single boulder in sunny spot 100-200 feet from the road. Located in the Quillinian Reservoir Block of the Naugatuck State Forest on the border of Seymour near Ansonia--20 min from New Haven. A few fun problems worth checking out if you live nearby or in the area. Rock quality is good. Signs posted mark area as bowhunting area, so be careful and respectful. Great winter spot.
Getting There
Located on NW side of Clinton Road in naugatuck state forest. About 0.5 miles on the right FROM fork with Rimmon Rd/Rt.313. Put Clinton Rd, Seymour Ct in your GPS. (Note: Clinton rd becomes Beaver St. around pullout for boulder).
Pull-off/parking on NW side of road. Boulder can be seen just beyond gate at pulloff parking. Alternate parking at trailhead on the other side of the street for hiking trails on the main side of the forest block.
