Description
Undeveloped boulder field in the Horse Mountain area. In the Enquist Creek drainage, the next drainage south of the main LOTL climbing areas. At least 10 freestanding boulders in the area, a little mossy but appear to be of good quality. Don't know how extensive the boulder field is, I discovered it while ski touring, and didn't explore much outside of the main concentration. If you do any development in the area, feel free to use Top Gun references as names....or not.
Getting There
Take Titlow Hill Rd. off of Highway 299. Pass the turnoff to the main LOTL areas and drive about five minutes further. Take a left on Forest Route 5N10, drive for a couple of minutes, and park where a smaller/older road splits off left. Head down this road to the northeast for ~5 minutes until you reach a small, open ridgeline above a creek, you should see the top of a large boulder downhill. If the gate on the main 5N10 Rd. is closed (in the winter), the hike is 20-25 minutes; if the gate is open (summer), the hike is 5 minutes.
