Description
This wide, south-facing cliff sits just north of Pharaoh Lake. The rock is a quartzy with good edges, but very few cracks. Beautiful location.
Getting There
Drive to the trailhead at Putnam Pond, just south of NY 74. (This road runs between the Northway exit 28 and Ticonderoga.)
From the trailhead, follow the trail to Treadway Mountain, about 1.5 hours. Before you reach the summit and at a 10'-high rock step in the trail, head south over open rock slabs to the top of the cliff. It takes about 2 hours to get here.
