DescriptionA relatively small area though rich with many possibilities. Unique in that it faces mostly south and west. This may be advantageous for cold weather. There may be as many as a dozen lines here for those frosty Jungle days. The approach is short making this a real bonus for the area.
Getting ThereFrom the Upper Jungle, travel north on the main road for 1.5 miles passing the Dark Continent Area parking to reach a road on your left. Here find a cell tower weather station transmission box marked number "11." Turn left here on FS Rd. 1458 and travel another 3 tenths of a mile passing a cell tower, and then down a logging road on the right heading northwest (see topo). Shortly, find a pull out on the left with a large cairn. Upper Jungle to here is a total of 1.8 miles. An easy, newly re-cut trail leads quickly to the edge. This is where you find an easy down chute complete with a fixed line for your convenience.
Just down the road on the right is a terrific campsite within easy walking distance of both this area and the Banshee Wall. The campsite is in a large meadow and has a fire ring as well as stumps to sit on. Very nice!
