Description
Near Stübig are two crags, the large (Großer) Stübiger Tower and the small (Kleiner) Stübiger Tower. They are both reached from the same approach and are located right next to one another. They are in the forest and are therefore shady and cool, though the Großer Stübiger Turm is a little more exposed on its Northwest face. They are also located up a rather large hill, making the approach more difficult than many others.
Getting There
The GPS coordinates indicate the parking area. On the A70 between Bamberg and Bayreuth, exit at Scheßlitz and head north towards Stübig. About 150m before Stübig there's a pull-off on the left. Park here and walk into Stübig, taking the road on the right after the sign for Stübig. Walk uphill for 350m and keep to the left. Continue uphill to the edge of the forest. Continue left into the forest and after about 200m you'll see the Kleiner Stübiger Turm through the trees. Stay on the path and it will lead you right to it. The crag you first see has no routes.
The approach takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
