Description

Easily passed-by enroute to Orange Wall, Madrone Wall offers moderate face and slab leads for both trad and sport.

Somewhat popular with classes FYI.

The 2022 edition of the guide book makes some pretty odd changes to this wall that needlessly confuse people. The current status of this area on Mountain Project is a more accurate source. To ease any confusion read the comments under the uploaded routes to get a better understanding of the shenanigans.

Getting There

1. From Powerline or Crack Wall's follow a trail down hill and West past Jay's Wall. There is a rope for a eroded part of the hill and just a little further down you'll come a across a small boulder like outcropping. Continue on an obvious path to the left right beside the outcropping, maybe class 2 for 10 feet. Dead ahead you'll see Madrone Wall.

2. The complicated way is go to the Cirque, walk all the way down to its furthest West route and follow a faint trail in an exposed meadow. You'll arrive at Orange Wall and from there you can go even further West to Orange Wall Slab and Madrone Wall.
