The mechanical bolts in this area (about 1/3 of the routes) were placed probably some time in the early 00's. It never became a destination until very recently. In late 2013, James Dunnet - a long-time resident of Kaohsiung - began putting up more routes in the area. Eventually, word got out about this phenomenal little spot which by itself presents an equal alternative to the QianGuang temple crag. In the winter of 2014-2015, a lot of attention was focused here - bolts had been sent from Taipei, photos of new areas were circulating, and there was some controversy over who was doing the development. Just as Skyline saw its first days of 10+ climbers, the development team also realized that holds were being intentionally altered to make climbs easier. This is now the norm on nearly all the routes at Skyline, and many at AC Wall. Undaunted, development continues quietly.

This is another jungle crag resting along one of Shoushan National Park's (Monkey Mountain) many unmapped offshoot trails. The rock here is of the greenish calcium deposit type reminiscent of the rock found at the Lost Wall in Okinawa, Japan. The area is a little known tourist spot, you won't find it on a map anywhere.

The area sees very little foot traffic so you'll pretty much have the crag to yourself. There are currently 15 climbs in the area ranging from 8-12. This is the only rock I know of in Kaohsiung where you can find vertical walls with very balancy holds as opposed to pumpy overhanging jugs and side pulls. This place is great for a day of climbing if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city nearby. there are also great views on the way up.

After leaving the boardwalk (see main Shoushan page), continue past the other areas until you arrive at an obvious intersection with red dots and gnarly trees. Turn right and you'll arrive at Skyline in one minute.
