Description

Kościelec (2,155 m above sea level) is a mountain in the High Tatras in the Valley Gąsienicowa of Poland.
The Tatras are Poland’s only alpine-type mountains, indeed forming the highest part of the huge transboundary arc that is SE Europe’s Carpathian chain. They cover just 785 km2, being only 57 km long in a straight line, and as little as 19 km wide.

Getting There

From Zakopane enter the Tatrzański Tatra National Park on foot. The road in the Gąsienicowa Meadow is closed to vehicles, so the only way to reach the shelter is by foot.
A two hour hike from any of the hut shelters/base camps.
