Description Suggest change

A large dome and a free-standing tower about 1/4 mile SSW of The Steep. Named for CP (Charles) Little with whom I visited the area in 2005. We thought there might be some really steep stone there judging from Google Earth, but no such luck. We found a few bolts already there, and assumed that Tony Lusk had been there already. No big surprise.

I went back in 2012 with Joe Shiefman and Jeremy Parks. We did a couple of Tony's routes and put up a few more.

The routes are not fantastic but they are pretty good and it's a cool spot. You will find solitude there... it's too far off the track to see anyone else. AND...Lust In The Dust, Ivory Tower, Master Debater and Double Or Nothing have deep morning shade.

The Lony Tusk is yet another crag in the upper Sabino area that requires technical climbing to reach the summit. The others are The Steep and Delta Dome. It is quite likely that Tony was the first person to stand atop each of these crags.

Getting There Suggest change

There is a trail from The Steep that winds down below the Not-So-Steep. It is probably pretty overgrown. It is an uphill grunt going out that way though.

It should be pretty easy to contour over from Delta. I've scouted part of the way, almost to where it intersects the trail from the Steep.

It will take about an hour to get there from Marshall Gulch.  If you can find it. Are you adventurous at all ?
