Access Issue: Road closure Oct 1, 2024 Details

PG&E will be closing access to Courtright reservoir early this year. The gate will close Oct 1, 2024 and will remain closed until the spring of 2025

Description

Locke Rock was named in memory of Bob Locke, who passed on Mt. Watkins, in Yosemite Valley. There are four known routes. Locke Rock lies northeast of Courtright Reservoir and near Maxson Meadow.

Getting There

Park at the Cliff Lakes parking lot and follow the trail toward Leopold Dome. Continue past Leopold Dome and Maxson Meadow. Locke Rock is the large granite dome to the northwest. Allow two hours to hike from the parking lot.
