Description
The Cone is the 200 ft high cone shaped formation that sits just east of the confluence of Ashley Creek with Duck Creek on a ridge trailing off from Reese Mt. This solid mass is at the boundary between the Reese granite and the granite gneiss contact zone. The north face is low angled and smooth which makes its surface look like an old bedding plane boundary. The Cone steepens abruptly when going counter clockwise to the west but the faces have many features.
