Description
The lower band of cliffs above the scree slope at the base of the large upper Sundance Wall. A fun easy to access spot with 18 (mostly bolted) routes (60-90' long) on better rock than it may appear at first. The top ledge can be accessed from either end via a 2nd class scramble. Watch out for the poison ivy amid the sumac on the slope to the north if approaching from that side, and loose rock on the ledge above, and of course, rattlers when it's not cold.
Getting There
About a 20 minute approach hike from the parking turnout to the base. From the main canyon trail continue to the barbed wire fence in the south canyon, cross this and head for the faint trail at the base of Cowboy Wall, left of the large scree slope (as if heading to the upper Red-tail Wall). The top ledge can be reached (via class 2 scramble) from either end.
