Access Issue: Respect temporary logging closures Details

Description

Larch Boulders is composed of granodiorite boulders, and has some quality boulders. They can be a bit rough on the fingers after an afternoon of sending though. Larch of composed of 3 main areas, with many lines cleaned, and many more to be cleaned and sent. There is potential for over 100 lines here. Everything from 30' problems to 30+' traverses. The average problem here is probably 10-15' tall. A huge variety of problems, including slabs, overhangs, and steep faces. Vb-V9 problems so far.
Please don't block gates, or the roads, as 4x4 drivers use the area a lot, as well as DNR crews and logging crews.
It tends to snow up here by December, and isn't clear of snow until about May/June. However, a buddy and I did a fair amount of bouldering out here in January when it was sunny, and 3' of snow on the ground. Since the boulders are in the sun, they dry out quickly.

Checked out the area yesterday. The view from the top is amazing, and was worth the trip, but the bouldering left much to be desired. Surprised people climb here...am I missing something? Aug 17, 2014

With the bouldering split into a few different areas, its easy to miss good boulders. I personally have about 5-6 boulders there that I come back to. Also check out Lost Lake Boulders (Oregon), Hamilton Mtn, and Bridge of the Gods boulders for more selection. Aug 19, 2014

I went out here last August. Great views for sure, but I would not go back for the bouldering. I'd only head here if you were dead bored with other areas and wanted a nice hike too.

Also, if you don't like seeing people with guns, I'd stay away. Dec 25, 2014
