Description

Shangri-la is a beautiful and remote feeling area of broken ledges and cliffs on the far west end of the south side of the valley. The climbing is very similar to that at The Bookstore. Viewed from the open fields at south end of the valley (across from Viper head) Shangri-la is the upper area right of Tonata Creek Wall.

Getting There

Follow the Tonata Creek road (#2148) 1 mile to the cattle guard (just beyond Tonata Creek Wall). Park here and hike up right and to the NW. A 15 to 20 minute hike gets you to the base of the cliffs. The main upper cliff is best approached from the left side.
