Access Issue: Access to this public land is only by crossing private land which requires the owner's permission. Details

Description

This is the east face of a long prominent ridge that comes down almost to the river about 2 miles west of Morning Rock. The ridge itself is public land, but the slopes on either side are private. This includes the old parking and trailhead area at the base (large pull out area on the east side) which is no longer available for public use.

The Bookstore (named after a series of open-book corners) was the first area in the Kettle to have bolted routes established (hand drilled in the early 90's). There is a large concentration of quality routes here - sport, mixed and trad - ranging from 30 to 160' long

Getting There

At this point access to the public land is restricted, due to vandalism of private property by the public. Perhaps in the future the landowners adjacent to the crag will allow limited access if permission is asked for and obtained ahead of time.
