Description
Named after a once burnt, but now recovered, pine tree near the base of the routes, the Black Pine area features a cluster of routes that lend themselves to a fun day of cragging.
Getting There
Parking and Approach
From the Left Side approach trail, continue left past two obvious right facing dihedrals (Fat Albert and Cretins Corner, respectively). Continue around the base of the slab until an easy chimney is reached. Squirm up this to the ledge. Consider belaying the last moves to the tree (one move of 5.7). This is the formerly Black Pine. Expect a 15 minute hike.
Descent
Rappel from a bolt anchor. If you do a second pitch, rappel Cretins Corner with two ropes.
