Description
Beautiful woodlands covered in granite boulders and granite and gneiss cliff bands. Lots of hiking trails cover the hills of Lyme. It is a great place to explore, in my opinion one of the more scenic areas of Connecticut. The rock is bulletproof granite.
Getting There
The best place to park is off of Route 82 at the Johnston Preserve Trailhead (41.426312, -72.371875). There is a short spur trail from the parking lot that intersects the pink trail. Taking a right at this T-intersection will take you past multiple clusters of rock. Going left may get you to the best rock sooner, but you'll pass less climbing areas. The pink trail loop is about four (4) miles including the out and back to Nemo & Charlotte, which is found along the red trail.
