Description
Thunder Mountain is the only developed peak on the Three Tees ridge, with a ski lift serving it on snow years. In dry conditions, a developed trail system makes walking off elementary.
Getting There
From the 210 freeway in the Upland/Claremont area, drive north to the top of Mount Baldy Road. Most of these areas are reached by parking at Manker Flats (6,000 ft) or the ski lift (6,400'). Timber, and sometimes Telegraph, can be accessed from the south at the Icehouse Canyon Trailhead (5,000 ft). All of these parking areas require a permit to park; activities in the Cucamonga Wilderness may also require a wilderness permit. Visit the ranger station in Mt. Baldy Village on the way up for current information, passes, and wilderness permits.
