Description Suggest change

This beautiful mountain valley is home to some excellent rock climbing.

The valley is 65 km long and provides access to a number of areas for both single pitch, multi pitch, and alpine climbing.

There are lots of inns in the mountains which provide food and a place to sleep.  Small villages have a variety of lodging to choose from.

Oetz, Längenfeld and Oberried have dedicated family friendly climbing areas.  Nösslach is known for multi pitch venues.

Absolutely one of the best  granite climbing region in Tirol, alongside Zillertal.  Around 20 locations with over 750 climbing routes.  Also popular are the 8 or more via ferrata.

Getting There Suggest change

Since this is the age of GPS, I'm not going to tell you directions to Umhausen. Just know that you have to get to Umhausen, which is West-Southwest of Innsbruck (see map). From there, plan your trip based on the route you're going to do. More detailed approaches are provided in the route descriptions.
