A beacon of Western Montana alpine rock climbing, Flathead is High, Wide and Handsome. It's a 950' monolith of clean granite with low-angle slabs stretching a couple thousand feet to the valley floor. Among several other great routes, it hosts one of the best alpine rock climbs in the state - My Mom's Muscle Shirt as well as one of the only A5 aid routes in the state - Every Mind is an Island. The wall has endless history and lore that would be great to add here by those that are willing to share.

Hike to the base of Shoshone, then follow a faint trail across the gully, up and around to Flathead.
