Description
The majority of the Basalt within Interstate Park is characterized by a smooth, and sometimes glassy surface. However, not all the rock has been polished by the St. Croix River.
The Tiny Bubbles area is a perfect example of high quality texture found within Interstate Park. The vesicular texture is formed when a gassy igneous rock cools, trapping these bubbles within the rock.

Getting There
Enter the Wisconsin side of Interstate Park, and make your way to the second parking lot. This parking lot is just uphill from the beach, and marks the entrance to the Summit Rock Trail.
Take the Summit Rock Trail until it diverges. Follow the sign for Echo Canyon trail. Take your next two lefts, and then tend right towards the river. Continue on this trail along the river and past Mikes Boulder.
