Description

This boulder is big and beautiful.

As you hike up from the Massey gap parking area, this area sneaks up on you. you can actually walk past this area if you aren't paying attention even though it is literally just off the trail.

The Sunset Boulder is massive. At its tallest point Sunset could be considered a super highball/free solo.

Getting There

Walk past the Horizon area and stay on the trail for a few minutes and pass the Highland Highball. You will walk through smaller blocks and rocks, and through the open areas. As you trend up another small uphill grade, notice the upraised land and large rocky feature. this is the back of the Sunset Boulder.
