Description

Partly sunny and party shady. It all depends on the time of day. Early in the year the wall is in the shade a little after noon. As summer comes along it gets more direct sun. The rock is nice and solid for the most part.

Note- Due to the nature of this area, being that it is a ski resort, there is a lot of ski/snowboard traffic depending on the time of the year. Probably not ideal during peak ski season.

Getting There

From the Solitude Summer trail map-
"Route begins off of Raptor Road and steeply climbs to the top of Summit lift at 10,000' elevation. Optional return of Sol/Bright trail connecting with Kruzr. Great views of Twin Lakes. Ride length to Summit lift: 2.9 miles.

We snowshoed in from Silver Lake. Follow the trail around the west side of the lake, it starts to rise in elevation as it makes its way around the south side. Head past Twin Lakes and up the 'back door' on to the highest point of Solitude Ski Resort, 'Top Summit 10035'. Just behind the ski lifts and building you'll find your rock. It's split into two sides, the west being the higher formation.
