Description

This is an obscure gem that rarely gets any love. This boulder has a classic on it called "Foot Kaput" that sets the scale for (v4) in the park. The rock is quality and grippy. Overhanging on the front face, to vertical on its hind end.

Getting There

Walk like you are going to walk on to the MRNRA toward Mt Rogers. Notice when you get well within sight of the gate to enter the National Rec area, on your left, you will see sporadic outcroppings. This is the Lonely Area. Most of the outcroppings are nothing to climb on. The Lonely Boulder is across the top of this hill and on the other side a bit, and all by its lonesome...
